Dear Wrenches:

I feel compelled to let you know that we DID NOT install the system in the
photo that Graham posted. Since I am (to my knowledge) the only Long Beach
(CA) PV installer on the Wrench List I thought it would be natural for some
of you to wonder whether AMECO had done the work!

Joel:

This system is NOT IN LADWP territory, it IS CEC, and I hope that I can find
out more about the system without creating any issues (legal mostly).

In a posting dated 11/16 you asked (rhetorically?):

"I have asked legitimate solar guys why the did not report the bad guys
to the contractors' license board or the district attorney during in the
40% federal tax credit days and was told (a) we did not want to get
involved; (b) we were too busy; (c) we were afraid of the gangsters
involved; (d) we did not know it was happening; (e) we did not care; (f)
some of above; (g) all of above. Are there any other reasons?"

I suppose this falls under a, b, and d. WHO do I "report" this one to?

This homeowner may actually be aware of the fact that his system is
compromised. He might even be proud of the fact that it is hideous and
qualifies as a solar eyesore. In fact, the "customer" may even have
installed it himself! It would be difficult for me to imagine that any
"practitioner" would not know that the inverter(s) are going to be confused,
especially so on sunny days. It is also sad to see the lower section of the
modules shaded by the upper section of the front rows. Maybe we should make
sure people are certified in trigonometry before they are allowed to install
PV?

Graham:

Thanks for posting the photo I sent you!
