Thanks for the great feedback!  Joel’s link to the Appraisal Journal is
interesting.

I have some great news.  The house with 5kW was sold over the weekend
and the highest offer was $32,000 more than the asking price.  I was
told that a family moving to L.A. from Israel is purchasing the home and
the solar power was definitely desired by the new owners.  I have a
feeling realtor’s will learn that solar powered homes are more desirable
and easier to sell than homes without clean, self-generated on-site
power.  Even if they don’t care tremendously about the environmental
benefits provided they should certainly appreciate the value of
independence.
