Matt,

The CEC will be happy to pay for half of the cost of the installed
meter--its part of the system. You can get recalibrated "easy-read"
cyclometer meters from Austin Intl. for $15 each. If you buy seven at a time
you get shipping free. The meter socket costs another $8 if you buy the
A-base from them. Then there is your time to mount and wire the meter. How
can you beat that for cheap insurance?

By the way--the metering requirement should be coming very soon. Look for it
as soon as their funding gets renewed.

Bill.

Bill,

No meter on the output. He wasn't interested at the time in adding any more
expense to the system. This is one drawback to the AE inverters that (you
would think) could be easily rectified by the addition of
an LCD and appropriate software. To keep my bacon intact, should I be
installing kWhr meters on all
net-metered systems? (the CEC sure won't pay for 'em.) Or should the
inverter makers be supplying the necessary bits to enable production
tracking?

Matt
