PV roofing material [RE-wrenches]

Matt,

Does the system have a kWh meter on the output of the inverter? That is
really necessary to quantify energy production. Looking at past bills can be
a two-edged sword. What if your client had increased his energy consumption
to the extent of the PV system output? Would that indicate that your system
was not working? Independent metering is necessary to save your bacon.

Bill.

William et all,

An after-note on the PVL bi-directional system we were discussing: The
system's owner called this morning at reported a 75% decrease in his energy
consumption over the past 7 months as compared to the same period of the
year before, not 50% as I reported. The system included 20 X PVL-64s and one
GC-1000 inverter with a state CEC-PTC rating of 1093 Watts peak efficiency.

It's always possible that part of the reduction was due to other factors,
but all in all it's safe to say that the system is working very well,
bi-directional as it may be.

Matt
