Freezer specs [RE-wrenches]

We have measured Conserv Chest between 300 and 100 watt hours per day.
Actual amount depends on room temperature an internal setting. Factory temp
range control comes with a range of -20F to about 0 or +3 F. We offer
customers a torx tool and instructions to modify the range available so that
they can set -10 to +10. This brings max very hot day usage down from
perhaps 1100 watt hours to 800 or 900. Cold day or location of freezer to an
unheated area in winter drops power use to 300 and less at times. I think
the average on a 70 -75 degree day with +7 internal temp used around 550
watt hours.

This unit also functions as a chest refrigerator with addition of an
external thermostat through which one can plug the freezer's line cord.

We have had only one hassle in sales of several hundred of this unit. As
might be expected, one customer ha a problem making the internal range
adjustment change, but that problem turned out to be that she had removed
the thermometer sensor bulb from its location and got it back in without the
heat transfer grease that is necessary.

I have not seen any other unit like it in AC that competes, however there is
one thing to be aware of when selling this 8 cu ft freezer. Should a
customer want to purchase more than one freezer for a single location, it's
best to advise that the very large surface area of two super insulated 8 cu
ft freezers requires the same power consumption than does a single poorly
insulated 16 cu ft chest unit. In other words two $700 Conserv 8 cu ft units
use as much power as a single $300 16 cu ft. Sears freezer.
