Tracker efficiencies, etc. [RE-wrenches]

Hi Chris,

Back in '97 I had a fixed democracy rack going with SP75 US64 MSX77 BP275.

I was most interested in Daily Amp Hours delivered and logged this over a
six month period. I have privately distributed the results.

I am kicking myself for not logging the outputs at different times of the
day but I do remember that as the sun came to the North at 12.30 pm in NZ
the glass panels that were previously lagging behind the amorphous caught up
and produced a larger proportion of their daily yield when approaching face
on to the sun.

This is firm in my mind that Mono Poly and Amorphous has different responses
to incident angles of direct sunlight.

This can easily be verified if someone has the time to do it.

I have often said that for this reason the rating of panels face on to a
controlled light source is a non-sense.

It is how much power is delivered when the sun is at acute angles to the
panel that matters.... Unless you have a twin axis tracker !!

Cheers

Carl Emerson.
