We did our first tracker grid-tie system back in late 2001 and took watt hour
readings two days in a row. One with out the tracker activated, and the next
day (same weather conditions) with the tracker activated just to see if there
was any appreciable difference. I was shocked to see some 27% increase with
the tracker activated. It sure made the customer happy as well! It is a hard
sell as the CEC does not care one way or the other if you use tracker or
fixed (as far as money goes), but in my opinion the 27% increase will pay for
the tracker by producing much more energy for the customer.
