Graham,

I have just come back from Sydney Australia consulting for Vodafone.
In the process of recommending panel technology for remote cell sites we
came across an array of 24 conventional glass panels fully smashed by hail.
This is unusual because generally the hail storms come from the South and
the arrays are North facing.
Because we were looking at a need for very high reliability the decision was
made to go for Unisolar or Canon panels with no glass.

Cheers
