We've been very happy with the Kirkland (Whirlpool) from Costco, model
SCF0710KQ, which uses just 276 kwh/yr vs. 291 "Uses least energy" and 293
"uses most energy" (from the Energy label). Cost, I recall, is $295. It's
small, not large capacity, and measures just 31-1/2 wide x 21-1/2 deep x
34-1/2 high (outside dimensions), but it has a 5 year limited warranty.

The "mainstream" refrigeration industry seems to be doing well in
producing more energy efficient models in recent years and we have no
doubt this will continue to work well for us when we move totally
off-grid (again) in May. We can't wait!

Sorry, I have no personal experience with large-capacity units.

Cordially, Chuck Heath "Plugging into Sunshine since 1989"
