The OutBack FX2000 is almost ready for production release. Several
units have already been undergoing testing and more will be released
later this week/next week for the formal beta testing cycle with the
production release software. We have completed the UL1741 testing with
ETL for the 24 vdc version in stand-alone and back-up power applications
and we will be submitting for CEC approval as soon as the report is in
hand. Volume production is expected to be completed in October.
The testing for utility line tie standards is expected to occur in
Octoober/November. This is planned to be completed with the assistance
of Sandia National Labs. We may hold off on the volume production of
the 48 vdc units until we have the line tie approval - any thoughts?
We did have our first FX2000 go over 6500 miles across the Australian
Outback on the front of Tom Carpenter's Land Rover (a wrench in Hawaii)
with positive results (except for the kangaroo he hit with the inverter
at 65 MPH). Photos are on the OutBack Power website.
