SW+GTI Inverter Regulation [RE-wrenches]

Recently, grid-tie SW4048 customers have reported that SW+GTI regulation
is so coarse that it raises DC voltage above the charge controller
setting causing the controller to momentarily disconnect the array as
often as all day long to just a few times a week.

One customer said that he had to lower his SW regulation DC voltage
setting further away from the charge controller setting than with his
pre-GTI SW. So now his SW voltage setting is too low to float his
batteries and his charge controller setting is above proper float
voltage which means if the grid goes down on a sunny day, his batteries
will be overcharged.

I have a 1998 SW4048 so I simply set my C40 one volt higher than the SW
(Menu 10 bulk and float volts) so current can flow “downhill” from the
PV array through the controller to the inverter and on to the load and
grid.

Is anyone else experiencing SW+GTI inverter regulation problems?
