Just wanted to clarify Rick's statement. The OutBack PSDC will allow
direct mounting of two SB50s on the top panel with 1" nipples. The left
one overhangs the side slightly. Three more can be mounted off to the
right of the PSDC on the wall with a short conduit connection between
the PSDC and the SB50. Not ideal but fairly clean looking and
acceptable in my eye. We are looking at making a support bracket for
the two RVPP SB50s on the top to eliminate the need to block them to the
wall. I don't think mounting the controller only by the conduit
connection is acceptable to the NEC - can you give us a ruling Bill?

Top mounting of the SB50s on the PSDC is not ideal however, as the
equalize button is up on top and hard to access. Also, the SB50s LED is
hard to see if you are not a basketball player.

The OutBack PSDC will accomindate six Trace C40 controllers - three on
the side using the OutBack CCB bracket and three on top. We don't
advise mounting the SB50s inside the PSDC, but other small controllers
can be - such as the morningstar brand which does not have an enclosure.

The RVPP SB50's and the Trace C40/C60's knoclout locations are only
slightly different - but it is these little differences that make a big
difference when you try and design a box that works with both - or try
to install them in the real world!
