Seperate Inverter for Workshop [RE-wrenches]

We use two inverters because the starting of large power tools would
sometimes affect the computer. But since the home and shop both have large
loads, and the computer is a small load, it was easier to dedicate a
separate small inverter to the computer and any other sensitive loads, still
running the balance of shop and home on the same large inverter.
We were surprised to find the small inverter cutting out as well when the
skill saw was started up. No, not low battery dip. The oscilloscope showed
that SW inverter was kicking back HI voltage spikes to the battery, about
50% over current battery voltage, when saw was started up. The second
(Exeltech 250) inverter was doing a HI voltage cut-out. Filtering the
battery line to the small inverter was a lot easier than trying to filter
the spikes out of the large inverter. A toroidal choke in + and - battery
cables to the 250 with large capacitor across the line after the chokes
cured it all.
