Hey Allan -- I also would have felt more comfortable seeing this on the
Marketing list. That said, it is an interesting one.

I stick with the fact that renewables ARE cost effective right now. The
reason they don't seem to add up economically is that they are being
asked to compete on an unlevel playing field. Fossils and nuclear are
heavily subsidized and neither are paying the environmental costs
associated with them. These aren't just make believe numbers, we are
all paying for those cheap watts and gallons in places other than the
meter and the gas pump. Acid rain alone costs our economy (it used to
be) $8-B annually, and what price Desert Storm???

Actually, much of the preceeding paragraph was gleamed directly from
many people, some of which may even be reading this list. Not only have
we heard it all before, I think most people have. The question is, what
are they all waiting for? The line I often get in my business, second
only to "how many of these solar panels does it take to run a house?",
is in some ways even more depressing. "This is really cool and we
really need it. I really wish people would get behind this stuff!".
Guess what my next question is.
