Hi Allan:

I may be attending some of the meetings, but at least say Hi to my sister
Terri Walters chairperson of the advisory board. I've actually changed some
of my thinking after reading some of your rants. I currently hold no
licensing or certifications (other than a degree in Engineering) and I have
been proud of that. I have seen enough downright dangerous work done by
"licensed" installers to know the NEC isn't cutting it. You've probably
encountered some of the same peoples' work. I now support the most rigorous
training and testing possible. If you can't pass the tests and training get
out of the business. I also support a 2 teired system that seperates system
designer credentials from installers. You can have both, but you have to
pass both tests. Grandfathering in existing installers without testing? Out
with the bums before they give our fledgling biz any more bad press. Maybe
this process could weed out the fly by night mail order houses too and get
us back to reputable dealers who have REAL design credentials and
experience. I support you as our official (or unofficial)spokesperson and
hope to see you there.
