Carl,
  One way I have been able to screen prospects is to email back, thanking 
them for the request for information and asking for their snail mail address 
so that I can send them a packet of information.  If I don't hear back, I 
figure that they aren't a serious lead.  By doing this, I don't waste time on 
people not even interested enough to answer back.
