Battery sizing for running the SW [RE-wrenches]

Hi Carl,

I feel just the opposite. The added expense ( which is a lot), the
limited power reserve, the added inefficiency, the added space and then
the maintance, plus the having to replace the additional equipment ( CC,
batteries, metering) all for a few hours of power? Plus the only
problems I have with systems are either 1: something fails ( pretty rare)
or 2: a battery related problem ( overuse, corrosion, old age, no water,
lack of mx etc)

To me just not worth it. You can also make the point that there would be
many less outages if more people had interties, therefor negating the
need for battery backup.

Do you really think that we can support the amount of lead that would
need to be worked so that people can put 500-2000lbs in their basement?
If 1,000,000 systems are added and they all use 2000lbs of lead thats
2,000,000,000 lbs of lead!!!
