Stuff has been availabe since "May". We stuck our first stuff down in
August. We'll see how it holds up over the first winter here.
They make other stuff that sticks to roofs for 20 years, so...
Don,
The terminations are made with J boxes that are siliconed (50 year
silicone, supplied with modules) onto the modules over the exposed leads.
The J/B is protected under the ridge cap. The surface encapsulation is
(from what I understand) the same as the other UniSolar modules, which have
been out for XX years.
At least we wont have Smitty putting black tar on these things if they
fail. :)
Jeff

Jeff, Lyn, You both have experience with this> I have heard about it but
not
much. How long have you had this material in the field. I have big concerns
about the long term durabiliity of the surface encapsulation and the roof
bond. Also how are the terminations done? Very interested by leery.
Don
