Hello folks:

Peerless Premier presently offers a 24 and 30 inch stainless steel range
("industrial type") with electronic ignition on burners and oven/broiler
(as are their other electronic ignition models). They're coming out with a
6 burner 36" stainless model sometime in July. They are pretty easy to do
business with; their number is 618-233-0475 (fax 618-235-1771).

1 - Each pilot light is worth 3 hot showers per day. Add that up!
2 - We have a DCS 6 burner stove with oven and radiant broiler and ran a
BRAND power meter on the glow plugs, the glowplug pulls 235 watts while the
unit is firing and 0 when not firing. The stove top spark igniters use 2-3
watts while sparking and 0 at rest. Due to the great insulation in the
walls
of the oven it is off more than it is on. Most residential/commercial
stoves [VIKING, WOLF, DCS, etc.] fall into this scenario. We looked all
over and could not find a high quality commercial type stove that had spark
ignition in the oven and broiler.
If any one knows of one there is a market for such a product.
3- Purchasing Hint - shop at restaurant supplies in large cities. Negotiate
there is room to bargain.
4 - Commercial units usually come with no insulation , No UL listing, and
come with all pilot lights but you need to come up with excellent side and
back heat protection to protect your cabinets. Typically in a commercial
kitchen all of the cabinets are stainless steel so heat is not an issue.
