I can get the wires into the box and work around many of the items to be
fixed, but when it fails with some simple problem that requires a long drive
to repair that they are not paying for ( unlike a washingmachine company for
example) its really expensive.

Yes the trip back to fix the said inverter is killer, then the shipping.
And the spare I'm suppose to have on the truck and the customer screaming "
you said this is reliable, I missed the Bulls Game" I put in the spare hope
that none of the other 75 or so trace inverters go out while my spare is on
their wall, or worse something happens to the spare inverter because of the
environmental conditions that are unpredictable at that location. pay would
be good. But field repairs would go a long way to let me sleep at night.
It only takes eating one or two inverters before a small time operator goes
down for good.
This note holds true for other inverters as well.
Note on the battery types. A rheostat control for battery charging rate,
that can be programmed or locking in to the system some how so the customer
can't fool with it.
PS we have a old Brutus here runs the (offgrid) workshop wood, steel and
other tools and the lights purchased in 93 still going strong.
