Hi there,

You should be so lucky....... on the weekend I sent a bunch of 6 away to be
repaired that didn't even show serial numbers or the specs on the tag. The
modules we have here were manufactured in Australia, but same symptoms as
previously described.

You didn't even know if they were 60's or 64's....... the white-backed
models gave between 19.0 to 20.0 volts and current of between 0.00 to a
shakey 3.85a. They have today been 'repaired' (at my cost) by the local
agent, but to claim warranty I would have to have sent them to Australia (at
my cost). The complicating problem is that they are second-owner and no
receipt for purchase.

Isn't it a co-incidence that two seperate manufacturing plants have had the
same problems (now showing up) with 'bad batches' of the white-backed
Solarex panels? Only in my case I can't even quote serial numbers, we can
only guess that they are about 10 or so years old. Interesting.

At least someone in the U.S. could compile a list of 'known' bad serial
numbers for lack of co-operation from Solarex. Another for the list of
Sparkys good ideas he came up with.........

Best regards from Down Under, John V
