SW4024 switching issue [RE-wrenches]

Hello,
I have a customer with a Trace SW4024 and Onan 6.5 kw propane generator.
After years of reliable transfer switching (no power interuption), they
reported to me that the 4024 would no longer hold up their computer, TV,
and VCR when the generator turns off. The switching time of the internal
relay between generator and battery/inverter AC is now long enough to
power down these components momentarily.
I wonder if the relay could be "chattering" when the generator turns
off, due to the generator's voltage fluctuating as it slows to a stop.
Any ideas? Low AC voltage cutout is presently set at the default of 106
volts. I'm wondering if setting this up higher could help.
Would disconnecting the generator AC cleanly, via an external contactor
/ relay, before it was signaled to turn off help?
Thanks,
Kirk
