SunTie Inverters [RE-wrenches]

Hi Wrenches,
I'm seeking any experiences and/or thoughts about operational problems
with the Trace Sun Tie Inverter. One of our (SunWize) dealers has a ST2500
installed in a school as part of a teaching program (located many miles from
his shop). Whenever the array output climbs above 700 watts, the unit cycles
off. He replaced the ST with a share unit he had at his shop. This new unit
cutouts above 650 watts. In a telephone conversation with the Trace techies,
he was told that the SunTie will tend to cutout several times (or more)
during the day. They said it has something to do with recalibrating or
readjusting itself. They said that the unit should cycle back up after the
adjustment period.
Also , apparently the cooling fan comes on whenever the wattage climbs
above about 200 watts. Trace said this was by design.
Do any of you have any similar experiences or any thoughts or insights?
It seems like the Sun Tie should be a simple Plug-n-Play install with no
nuisance cutouts. And why does the fan need to operate if the unit is not
warm or operating at the high end of it's output?
This is a fairly new family of inverters and I have no hands-on experience
with them. Does anyone have any thoughts or guidance?
Thanks,
Steve Bell
