Tips: 4/0 cable crimps [RE-wrenches]

Awhile back, someone on the list asked for tips. Here's one for getting 
those 4,123 strands (?) of 4/0 welding cable into a ring terminal or 
compression fitting such as the DC 250 DCBB:

Use a _single strand_ of #16 wire to wrap the 4/0 using your fingers and 
needle nose pliers _before_ removing the already cut ring of outer 
insulation. Wrap it right next to the insulation, where the cable is 
smallest. Then, carefully slide the tightened strand up toward the end of 
the 4/0 cable that tries to "bloom" as you remove the ring of cut 
insulation. Fold the twisted #16 end upward against the 4/0 cable and 
insert. Voilá!
