For general information, I did a quick test of a Trace UX612 that I am using
as a power source in my truck with 2 Trojan L16PF batteries. The old part
of my house (including my office) is powered thru a single plug and outlet
from my SW4024. It includes the original circuit breakers and switching
stuff from my old system which had a Tripplite 500, Trace 612, then a
Powerstar 1300 . This plugged in line was originally the generator input
thru a transfer switch. I just pulled the plug on the old system and with a
long extension cord, plugged the house into my truck. I ran the washing
machine (top loader), my computer, lights and fax machine all at the same
time. The lights did pulse a little when the washer agitated. I was
impressed! Oh, I forgot to mention the old 35 watt Sansui Stereo system with
system cranking out some serious sound. The test was originally to look for
noise on the stereo. It was quiet. Also I turned up the thermostat on my gas
furnace and it also ran fine. The powerstar 1300 would not run the
controller on the gas furnace correctly because of the mod sine. Does anyone
else have experience with the UX series as a house system? The only thing I
found that acted funny was my phone in the fax machine. When I was getting
messages from the telephone co voice mail, the commands did not work right.
Hooked back up to the sw and it worked fine again. This little test tells me
the old Trace 612 is still alive and well in a new white box and performs
better than ever. I'm encouraged to set up more small systems for the needy
with this little gem.
