<x-flowed>Hello Wrenches

Here is a redirect form Tehri at MREA. I think some of you might like
to attend this workshop--it's a golden opportunity to come up to
speed with the expert--Mick Sagrillo.

Richard,
The Wrench Email list sounds perfect. Here is the email blurb. As always, I
am grateful.

For Immediate Release: 4/10/00

Hands-On Wind System Installation Workshop
Gain hands-on experience installing wind electric system at the Midwest
Renewable Energy Association's (MREA) "Wind Systems Installation"
workshop. The workshop will be held May 15 - 26, at the MREA's ReNew the
Earth Institute, in Custer Wisconsin.

This two week workshop is the most thorough and complete small wind
turbine workshop offered in the United States. It is intended for renewable
energy system dealers, installers, and serious homeowners who want to be
able to install home-sized wind systems. Topics will range from
aerodynamics and tower safety habits to improving wind quality and quantity.

Participants will gain experience with site analysis, system design, and
system installation. There will also be time spent comparing and
contrasting the various wind systems that are commercially available. And
perhaps most importantly, participants will be responsible for installing a
3.6 kW Jacobs wind generator on a 100ft free standing tower, complete with
inverter, battery bank, and all wiring.

While this system will be grid-intertied using a Trace inverter and have a
battery back up system, off-grid systems, especially wind/PV hybrid
systems, will be emphasized. Because this is an installation workshop
involving tower work and a crane, enrollment will be limited.

The "Wind Systems Installation Workshop" will be taught by Mick Sagrillo,
of Sagrillo Power and Light. Mick teaches wind workshops across the country
for the MREA, Solar Energy International, Great Lakes Renewable Energy
Association, and other organizations. He has written wind power articles
for Home Power Magazine, and writes a regular column in the American Wind
Energy Associations newsletter.

For more information on this workshop contact the Midwest Renewable Energy
Association, 715-592-6595, email: mreainfo at wi-net.com, or visit our web
site at www.the-mrea.org.
