Marco:

I was just getting ready to write when Christopher Freitas from Outback
wrote almost the same thing. We are combining the 3000 watt inverters
in Africa quite successfully for some fairly large systems. We actually
look at this as a big plus in the remote locations, because if one
inverter fails (which none have yet), then only a part of the system is
inoperative. And, in normal design, one inverter out of a group of 6 or
9 inverters is probably only going to be operating a small percentage of
the time anyway.

So, even if we had the choice of going with one large inverter, we
simply would not.

Does anyone know of any 10, 20 or 50 kW off-grid inverters available
anywhere here in this great land? I gotta believe that the military and
other folks have used or spec'ed out great big inverters for off-grid
applications. I mean, there's got to be an alternative to dozens of 3-5
kW
inverters, no?
