solar thermal question [RE-wrenches]

Hi Jay,

Yes this would be an aDsporption (not aBsorption) chiller driven by 
evacuated tubes like the Apricus.  Larry Elliot of Quantum Energy 
(formerly of this list) and I have done the numbers on some and 
looked into appropriate chillers.  The commercial adsporption 
chillers we found from Japan were only 20 ton and larger and so we 
weren't able to put together an off the shelf package for say a 5 ton 
for a residential situation.  We've heard of others doing work on 
these too.

I think Evacuated Tubes driving an adsportion cycle for commercial 
and eventually residential AC and perhaps even solar assist 
refrigeration is one of the most exciting solar applications around - 
whoever packages it first should have a large market in the sunny air 
conditioning belt - especially for commercial units.

Anyone know of smaller adsportion chillers than 20 ton?  Anyone else 
working on it?
